Gurkirat Brar

My name is Gurkirat Brar. I'm an aerospace engineering student and a Civilian Instructor with the Cadet Program. I’ve always been fascinated by rockets, and now I get to share that passion while mentoring youth. Whether I’m building rockets or helping build leaders, I’m here to help the next generation grow, lead, and launch, both in life and in the air.

My Story

Gurkirat’s fascination with rockets began at a young age, his visit to the Kennedy Space Center outshining even Disney in his childhood memories. That early inspiration led him to pursue aerospace engineering and join the Cadet Program at the age of 12. After six years of dedicated involvement, he aged out as a cadet leader but returned as a Civilian Instructor to mentor and empower the next generation. Today, he brings his technical knowledge into the classroom, teaching young students about rocketry and astronomy and guiding them through hands-on projects, including building and launching their own rockets. One of his proudest moments was leading a G-class motor rocket launch that won a competition; his team is now preparing for their Level 1 certification. For Gurkirat, it’s not just about the engineering, it’s about impact. Helping others find direction, confidence, and growth is at the core of everything he does. His long-term goal is to engineer the future of space and help others launch their journeys too.
