First Aid Training

First Aid forms an essential part of the training program at Progress Peel.  In the first two years of the program, students will learn all of the First Aid techniques in the St. John Ambulance (SJA) First Aid Reference Guide.  This level of learning goes beyond what is typically learned in the SJA First Aid certification. In addition, extra time is spent on these techniques and skills throughout the year so that the material is learned thoroughly and can be recalled when required.

First Aid lessons include learning the theory behind First Aid principles along with a strong focus on practicing the First Aid techniques.  Progress Peel students have access to all of the necessary First Aid equipment and supplies.  Training is scenario based to replicate, as closely as possible, what would happen in a real life First Aid emergency.
